Nowadays, structural optimization techniques such as size, shape and topology play an important role in the conception of modern engineering structures. These innovative approaches lead to fascinating and efficient solutions for complex structures. This mini-symposium aims to bring together researchers working on various advanced aspects of structural optimization applied to fluids, solids and structures. Topics of interest for this minisymposium include, but are not limited to the following:
• New advances in structural topology optimization
• Topology optimization considering manufacture constraints
• Nonlinear structural topology optimization problems
• Microstructure design and multiscale topology optimization
• Multi-physics design problems
